ABOUT

Mikkalous (pronounced like “Nicholas” w/ a “M”) is the working alias of Mikki 100, a visual artist living & working in Los Angeles. She works with a range of media including digital & print illustration, animation, painting, typography & sculpture. While she thinks Los Angeles is the best city in the world, Koreatown in particular holds a special place in her (he)art.
Her North Star is her 8 year old self--making art that young mikkalous would enjoy.
She is currently working on series of interactive, illustrated maps of Koreatown, exploring the connection of art between the virtual & analog. Her first map of four can be found both online through her website, instagram and as gif stickers and offline in 4 select locations around Koreatown as prints housed in bright green painted cardboard news dispensers.
She is available for commissions and collaborations.

STREET SURREAL
Jun 15, 2019 - Jul 21, 2019 Art Share LA in the Arts District, Los Angeles, CA
The strange, bizarre, and different have always found a home in Los Angeles. Perhaps due to the city itself having a surreal history and unique character like no other.
Downtown Los Angeles specifically has always been a juxtaposition of worlds, home to business execs, hospitality workers, artists, musicians, lawyers, city officials, fashion designers, factory workers, developers, students, retirees, and residents of Skid Row. The streets are a jarring collision of realities, creating a surreal atmosphere that pervades the city streets and awakens those who look a little bit closer at their seemingly ordinary surroundings. Art Share L.A. is proud to present: Street Surreal.
